Waiting until delivery to find out gender?

Question

Did you and spouse wait until delivery to find out gender? Would you do it again? Did it make the experience more exciting or did you find it more of a hassle? Did you find out gender and wish you would have waited? Tomorrow is our 16 week appointment, and we get an ultrasound at each appointment due to the circumstances of the two losses we had this past year. We are not sure we want to know the gender.

We didn't find out with our first 2 and aren't finding out with the third. We loved not knowing. We knew we wanted more then 1 kid so everything we got as far as nursery stuff and stroller, carseat, highchair, etc was all gender neutral. It was a little hard because I wanted to buy all the cute clothes but it may have saved me money in the long run so I guess that was a positive as well. I kept my kids in the 1 piece sleepers for so long so I just bought a bunch of those in gender neutral colors before hand so I had clothes for them. I did a lot of grey, white and yellows. I'm sure you will be happy no matter what you choose do. Good luck!

My first two kids we didn’t find out until birth and it was a really nice experience. Especially with your first baby (if you plan for more), you’ll get more useful things if you don’t know what you’re having (diapers and wipes vs yet another blue bib).

We have waited for birth all 3 times and are waiting again this time. :)

I waited until my first was born. It was such an amazing moment. I found out with my son, it was equally wonderful and nice to be prepared. If I conceive again, we will find out because we are starting all over again.
