How to talk my boyfriend about let’s get married?

Me and my boyfriend been dating three years and friends for seven years I was wondering how to tell my boyfriend I want to us to take the next step to get engaged/marriage. We already have a baby she’s four months.

Any married friends? Use that as a starter maybe? 
I’d personally bring it up like “sashas wedding was lovely, I really liked the table spreads, do you think we’d have something like that?”
But that might be perceived as strong, it’s all what works for you

Be straight. Tell him your wishes for your future and leave it open ended implying “are you in this journey with me”?  Does that make sense? Don’t pressure him. Just tell him what you want whether he’s in your future or not. Let him decide if he wants to be there. 
We waited a long time. We were still in college, broke and my man was working. Once we graduated we moved and got jobs. 9 months later we moved in together and 6 months later we were engaged. Together for 6 years then and going on 9 now. 22-31 years old.

Agree with a previous commenter, if I wanna mention marriage to my bf then I find something I like and say "I want to have that at our wedding." Hopefully that should start the conversation.
Or you could just bring it up like "Hey I kinda hope we get married soon" or something.  Just more straightforward.
