Telling my 3 yr old about a miscarriage?

I had a miscarriage 3 days ago I was only 7 weeks! Our 3 yr old daughter knew about the pregnancy (I wish we hadn't told her but we did), so now I'm wondering how to tell her I'm not pregnant anymore! I dont want to upset her because she was so excited! were planning on trying again as soon as we get the go ahead from my doctor!  So my question is should we tell her about the miscarriage or just wait and hope we get pregnant again soon and have her think its the same pregnancy?

We went through this exact same situation in April. We also had told our 3yr old and miscarried at 7 weeks. Bless those little ones and their short attention spans because she very naturally just forgot, especially because we weren't constantly talking about "baby" anymore. She did ask once and I told her that that baby was going to live in heaven instead and quickly moved onto something else. She was good with that and didn't ask for more. We are trying again right now and won't tell her about it until much later this time, and likely she'll just assume it's been the same baby all along. The beauty of this age is they have no concept of time (so for all they know cooking a baby takes a really long time) and they move on to the next exciting thing so quickly.

We had one last month and hubby told my 4 & 7 yr olds that we "thought" there was a baby but mommys tummy wasnt ready. And that they need to help make sure my tummy gets ready by making sure i eat good and drink lots of water. It seemed to go well for them

When my mother had a miscarriage, she never told me until someone slipped up in the grocery store and asked about the other kid and I wanted to know what they were talking about. I was a little older then so I think I was able to understand better.

I never got the chance to tell my 4yo this time. I'm glad I didn't. The first time I just told her that the baby wasn't ready to be here yet, so it went to be with Jesus. I'm not religious but my daughter has gone to church with my siblings, she looked at me and said 'mommy the baby died right?' And I started crying and told her that yeah the baby died, and she hugged me and said 'I'm sad to mommy but the baby is with Jesus and he will take good care of it'. Now she always talks about her little sister (sometimes she says brother) and how she is here playing with her. It kinda makes me feel better that she knows and understands even though most people try to tell her she doesn't have a little sister or brother.
