Do your Jan '17 babes still take a bottle?

Question

A friend of our's pediatrician told them to cut the bottle off at the one year mark. We are still going strong on cow's milk with no end in sight. (Our pediatrician said nothing about cutting off the bottle.) Wondering when we should start thinking about weaning? Maybe to just a morning and before bed bottle? He currently drinks about 24oz per day. 🍼🍼🍼

can anyone give a good reason what's the hype about weaning? My daughter is breastfed and neither one of us has any plans to quit any time soon. She is starting daycare in May so we'll only leave a morning and bedtime nursing, and the rest of the day she will take breast milk+cow's milk from either a bottle or a cup, whatever she chooses, cause they can do either in daycare. So what exactly is the big deal?🤔

do what works for you! I'm trying to wean my daughter from the breast and if that means she needs a couple bottles during the day who cares!

LO is still getting 2 bottles a day most days! He is super attached to them so it’s been a very slow process for us. 
Our pediatrician told us to cold turkey him at 1 yr check up but easy for her to say because she doesn’t take care of him on a daily basis and get to experience the tantrums. 
I’m trying to be easier about it on him and on ourselves - he won’t want to drink a bottle forever so it’s a phase of life. 
He has every type of sippy cup and uses them well but just loves the comfort of his “baba”

My ped told us we could cold turkey bottles at 1 year and now she won’t drink any type of milk. She only drinks water out of a straw cup... I wish I would have weaned her and tried to switch over to cows milk before I let go of the bottle

Only way she will take milk is warm in a bottle still... And we still do formula at least once a day cuz she's being so picky with food and not eating enough right now. She loves her water in any kind of cup tho and drinks tons of that. We've tried cold milk in every option and she refuses it soon as she figures out it's not water lol

We switched to straw cups at a year so he gets milk and water out of those. But we’d started introducing them already and he was proficient in drinking out of them before we stopped the bottles.

We do 1 night time bottle. Our pediatrician said it’s okay to go until about 1 1/2.
I don’t see the need for a rush, but we will be weaning within the next few months.

I was trying to wean my daughter off and only having her use the bottle for morning and night.  However, since I am in the hospital, literally no one is continuing with my efforts so she has been getting like 5 bottles a day (when I had her down to 2).  My husband’s aunt was watching her and surprised that she likes water from a straw...well that was how I was weaning her.  Unfortunately my husband just chooses to do what is easiest for him instead of what is best for her.

Following 😫 my daughter is good with whole milk it’s just she wants her bottle! She drinks out of Sippy cups with straws just fine with water and juice but when it comes to her milk she needs it a bottle 😭
