IUI pain?

I had my first IUI on Saturday. Since then, my lower abdomen has felt firm and I’ve been having on again off again pain that can get quite bad. I tried calling the advice nurse but she referred me to the fertility clinic, which was closed. I’ll call them in the morning, but should I be worried or is this normal? I feel like someone has blown up a balloon in my lower abdomen with sharp pain and when I sit it feels like I sat on a spike that’s poking my belly button. Honestly, it feels like constipation without being constipated. Normal post-IUI symptoms or something funky?

UPDATE: The fertility clinic wasn’t worried because I wasn’t having symptoms of an infection or puncture. The pain and bloating went away after 4 days. My next IUI they had me take Benadryl and Tylenol beforehand. I didn’t get the bloating but OMG the pain was horrible. It felt like someone took a baseball bat to my stomach. I couldn’t even breathe without pain. Round the clock Tylenol for two days and by the third day I felt close to normal. The doctors are baffled about why IUIs mess with my body so much, and they’re looking at options to prevent the pain from my next IUI.
