lots of blood

Sorry if this is TMI however was worried yesterday. I thought my period came early because I went number 1 and there was lots of blood in the toilet. I placed a tampon in. Few hours later I went 1 and 2 and again lots and lots of blood so I took the tampon out to replace it and it was dry. Which means it came not from my period but from my butt. I became really concerned because of the amount and no other issues. When I woke this morning my butt is sore. Should I let things ride out or should I see a Doctor? Sorry if I made y'all uncomfortable just never had a issue like this.
