Breastfeeding and energy drink?

I have been EBF, but will either pump or supplement with formula of I decide to have an alcoholic beverage. I was wondering about energy drinks?
I have a 12oz can of red bull that I have been wanting to drink, but I’m not sure how long it stays in my system or how it will effect my breast milk. Anyone with advice or experience?

You can have a drink while you're breastfeeding. If you feel okay to drive, you're okay to nurse. Alcohol leaves breast milk at the same rate it leaves the bloodstream. But I wouldn't drink energy drinks while breastfeeding. They're not good for you anyway, but there's a lot of caffeine in them which can affect baby.

I think caffeine stays in the body 5-6 hours, but I read that a while back. I’d be very hesitant to drink Red Bull while breastfeeding — is it for sleep deprivation? Given the quantity of caffeine in it, might be worth asking your doctor for advice.
