Not Sure If I Want To Do a Big Reveal

We find out baby's gender the day after my step-daughter turns one, the next day we are having her party. Since my fiancés ex moved 8 hours away, and we don't get much time with his daughter, I kind of want that weekend to be all about her. I know we could wait to do a reveal, but we are so impatient, it would be difficult (with 4 daughters we NEED to know if our hopes/timing for a boy were successful). Plus the idea of doing some form of gathering not long after her party, and right before I take my kids 9 hours out of state to see their dad, seems like a lot of money with a baby on the way.

My biggest holdup, however, is that my 14 year old daughter wants to make us a reveal cake so badly. She actually got pretty upset at the idea of not doing it.

Suggestions??
