Any tips for labor?

Tomorrow I am getting induced.. I am very nervous, this is my first baby & I’m trying my best to prep myself for tomorrow. Any tips on hospital bags? Breathing during labor? Any tips on being in labor?

Eat before you go and TAKE CHAPSTICK! All the breathing and stuff during labor really dried out my lips and I was lucky I had some with me.

Sleep as much as you can! Seriously, go to bed super early tonight. I don't know what method you'll have, but it took me 3 days of being induced using different methods (pessary and gel), before I finally gave birth so be prepared that it could take a while. The ward was so noisy that I only got a few hours sleep the entire time I was there. I was so exhausted by the time I went into labour that the pain was unbearable. Take some food with you, eat whenever you can, and drink water constantly. Take a puzzle book for early labour (I did sudoku) and take a phone charger. Good luck! X

Hello! I had my first back in Oct and I was pretty nervous. If they let you hot bath or hot water running down your back helped me alot. My room had a tub so I was in there for a while. Pack chapstick, your lips get so dry. Also, bring change. You're going to be hungry after and if they don't have food fast enough vending machines can save you. They provide almost everything for the baby, so don't over pack diapers and wipes. Oh bring a hair tie, hair gets real annoying really fast when you're sweating and pushing. And relax, honestly it's not as bad as you picture it.   It all melts away when you see their little faces all new and sweet.

Take a nice hot shower, do your hair, and eat something! They won’t let you eat once you’re admitted. I was induced with my first baby and the pitocin (I think I spelled that wrong) contractions are pretty intense compared to normal contractions. Just remember to breathe slowly through them. It really does help to keep calm and in control. The pain gets worse if you start to breathe shallow. Good luck! 💕
