Abortions?

Question

I just want to hear your experiences. How did you feel before and after? Did it hurt? What could you do and not do after the fact? Did you tell anybody? What about years later? Is it still something that bothers you? Do you regret it? Was it harder for you to get pregnant when you finally decided to you were ready? Did anything go wrong during the abortion that hospitalized you? Did you stay with your partner after ? Did you tell your partner?

Answer

I had a medical abortion when I was just over 5 weeks pregnant.
I was content with the decision, but still felt nervous waiting to be called as I didn’t really know what to expect. 
I had to take a tablet there at the doctors, and then the next day allow another 4 to dissolve under my gums for half an hour. 
That was a slightly uncomfortable but otherwise fine. 
Later that night I woke up to some cramping and bleeding, but it didn’t hurt any more than my period. 
I bled for about a week, so that was slightly inconvenient but again, just felt like my period so it didn’t stop me from doing anything. 
I had a follow up 2 weeks later, ultrasound and a pregnancy urine test to confirm that I was no longer pregnant and that the abortion was successful.
My husband knew about everything from the moment before I took a pregnancy test- and it returned positive.
He went with me to the clinic for support, and drove me home afterwards (I could’ve physically drove myself, but he wanted to as he knew emotionally I shouldn’t drive).
I felt absolutely fine/normal after leaving  the clinic but I did cry a little which I think is a normal emotion. Probably more from relief, but partly from “I can’t believe I just did that”.
That was almost a year ago, I’ve never regretted it because it was the best outcome for the situation and I’m 100% confident that I made the right choice, but i still think about it from time to time (like being in awe that I could actually have a child right now if things had been different).
I haven’t been pregnant again since, but at my follow up the doctors mentioned that as I had a medical abortion (and not a surgical one) without any complications, that I would be able to conceive again immediately and to take precautions to avoid that. 
My husband and I are now at the point where we are actually actively trying to conceive- as we are now ready for it emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially

I had a surgical abortion with anaesthetic two days ago. I was nervous about the whole procedure as I haven’t been put under before. Everyone was so friendly and nice. I got put to sleep and woken up not long later. I’m still getting tiny cramps and hardly any bleeding. Don’t be too nervous because they know what they’re doing and I’m sure they do it all the time. I don’t suggest taking the pill as I’ve heard horror story’s from a friend. Just a traumatic and long proses.
