Is it okay to wait until 10 weeks?

I'm five weeks and one day and nobody will see me until July 20th (I've called several different hospitals/offices). I see all these other women who are just as far along as me and are already going to the doctors or are going very soon... I don't get it and I'm super frustrated. I know usually you don't get seen until eight weeks but why does everyone else get in so early??

I rang my doctors a week after I found out, I was 6 weeks at the time & I didn't get an appointment till 12 weeks! I'm in the UK though and ive been told that's pretty normal to not be seen till 12 weeks. But I wouldn't worry too much. Not much gets done at the first midwife/doctors appointment, or it doesn't in the UK anyway! But yeah, don't worry too much and go to your appointment whenever it is! Goodluck 🌻

I think what's bugging me is that they told me I don't need to have it confirmed, that my HPT was confirmation... and everyone on here is always saying you have to have it confirmed by a doctor.

Try a midwife, mine saw me at 5 or 6 weeks I can't remember, but they tend to have more time avaliable to see patients.

Start taking a prenatal vitamin if you aren't already and drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. You can also call the OB if you're taking medication and you're not sure if you can continue while pregnant. Mine saw me at 4 weeks but didn't really want to schedule until 6. I assured them I had 3 positive pregnancy tests and no bleeding so they scheduled me early. I've heard 6-8 weeks is typical. They won't need to see you until then, but definitely call and ask them your questions! This was my first time being pregnant and I wanted to make sure I was doing everything right those first few weeks before getting to see the doc. Congrats!!!

Most OBs won't see you till 8-12 weeks, unless you're higher risk.

For me I had two miscarriages last year so I was seen at 6 weeks, then at 10 weeks. If you aren't sure (or tell the nurse taking the appointment you don't know) when your last period was, they'll try to see you sooner! Good luck! And I agree very frustrating!
