How to hide from in-laws?

I’m only 4wks6days and we are having them over for dinner tonight. I have had multiple mc’s and don’t want to announce or even talk about it until 12wks. But, our family loves wine and whiskey with dinner. If I don’t drink I think they will ask...any tips to hide or distract so I don’t become center of attention?

just tell them your trying to stop so you body can be healthy enough to hold the baby since you have a history of MC's (bless their souls) and just make it seem like your preparing your body to try again. let me know if it works. And praying for a happy & full pregnancy for you💕💕

Pour yourself a glass of wine, or ask someone to bring you a glass of wine, and then don’t drink it. Carry it around and sort of pour it out if you can. We had dinner with friends last week at a restaurant and I ordered wine and didn’t drink it. Husband swapped his empty glass with me when there was a big laugh and ppl weren’t paying attention...

For the past couple of weeks I have been telling people I am on medication for depression, and I shouldn’t mix it with alcohol. Considering that I really was on such medication a few years ago, and I am going through some career problems currently, it is completely believable!

I’m in the same boat. Not that I was a huge drinker, but when the fam gets together ( I’m dreading Easter) it will seem off If i don’t have a glass of wine. I was thinking of telling family I’m doing the whole 30 right now 🤔 also, I have a bachelorette party in Vegas I have to commit or not commit to. Obviously if I go I won’t be drinking and those family members will know, and then they’ll tell everyone! 🙄 but if I don’t go , they’ll be like wtf aren’t you going? And a trip does not sound fun at the moment. Wouldn’t change this pregnancy for anything! I’m over the moon, but this timing makes it interesting.

just tell them you aren't feeling well that way later they aren't like you drank while you were pregnant or if God forbid something happens after they find out they can't blame that even though you knownyour weren't drinking
