What’s your cloth diaper washing routine?

I’ve heard that if the diapers aren’t washed properly, it can cause diaper rash even from ‘clean’ diapers. What do you personally do to prevent diaper rash and get cloth diapers completely clean?

I wash every other day. I do one cycle on cold without detergent and another cycle on hot with detergent. I use liquid detergent (all free and clear) to prevent detergent build up in the leg gussets. The only issue I've had so far was a rash from detergent build up in the gussets when I used to use powder detergent. Besides that, we've had no issues with leaks, rashes, or smelly diapers. My son is 15 months.

I wash ever 2-3 days. I do a warm wash with 1 small scoop of detergent. I use a detergent made by Diaperkind (it’s a local cloth diaper service). Then I do a hot wash with 2 scoops of detergent. I will sometimes add bleach (1oz) to my second cycle if things need some extra cleaning.

My daughter has never had a rash. We do a wash every 1-2 days. Soak the nappies in a bucket of hot water with antibacterial detergent that came with it, then wash in the machine on a standard wash (40c), then on the radiators to dry. ☺️

I would check out Fluff Love University. You need two complete wash cycles. One shorter with less detergent and one longer, bulked properly for agitation with  more detergent. Let me know if you need any help.

Every other day, rinse cycle, then a small amount of detergent and nappy cleanser, make sure they’re rinsed till the suds go out of the water, tumble dry the inside and hang dry the outer waterproof layer

I wash in a top loader. First cycle on short cycle with warm water and tide powder (line 2). Second cycle on heavy duty with hot water and extra rinse with tide powder to line 4. Then I dry on medium heat for about an hour to really get the inserts dry.

I was every 4-5 days. For my specific washer, I do line 1 powdered tide for the prewash, setting heavy duty, heavy soil. For the main wash I do line 4-5 powdered tide, heavy duty heavy soil and then throw in the dryer on high for an hour.

I wash every 4-5 days. Front loader. Line 1 powdered tide quick wash heavy soil on cold. Main wash is line 3 tide with 1/2 cap Calgon (for hard water) heavy duty wash heavy soil on hot.
