Democrat in a Republican household

I’m 17 so I’ve started to form my own views on life, both morals and political. I’m not sure what political party I am yet but I know I’m more on the democrat side at the moment. My whole family (mom and dad side) are strong republicans and it sucks living with them. I have such different views than them and if I say anything they disagree with I just get shut down because they see me more as a kid than an adult and think I’m completely wrong. Does or is anyone else going through this? Or is it just me? I just find it so weird since I grew up in their household my views are so different.
