2 week old rolling onto side?

Anyone else’s LO do this so early? I’m so worried he will roll from his side onto his stomach and not be able to breathe...is this normal? Does it increase the risk of SIDS?

My baby has done this since he was a week old. I took pictures and showed the pediatrician, he said it’s fine and normal. As long as baby can’t get all the way over into his stomach it’s ok to keep swaddling him. 
I noticed that he does it more to look at the night light that was on one side so I put it directly above/behind him so he doesn’t do it as much now.

It’s an instinct they have from “swimming” in the womb, the first two months you’ll find them flipping themselves all over the place. My son looked like he was on a roller coaster when he was sleeping. They eventually stop, if he gets to his belly just flip him back.

It's a reflex to prevent him spitting up from over flow.

My two week old baby does this too! I freaked out at first. I thought it was way too early.

My daughter did it pretty early as well just be SUPER cautious that they can breather otherwise sids is very possible. Maybe sleep next to your baby until he/she is stronger

As long as baby can turn their head side to side at their own will, they will be fine. There’s nothing you can do to stop them from rolling once they realize that they can. xx my son also did this from birth. Scared the life out of me. He’s now a happy, healthy 3 month old  xx
