off subject but can I file taxes?

I was a stay at home mom for most of 2017, but I worked a few jobs I got W2's for them but it probably doesn't total no more than $1,500. I was doing photography jobs, petting,house and baby sitting, doing yard sales,etc to supplement income when I wasn't working. But I don't have proof or receipts for that stuff. I live with my GMA and mother and both say I can't file because of this and that... I've talked to so many people and I hear so many different opinions. I'm 22 and never filed before but I also have 2 kids that I have supported pretty much on my own. I'm just confused on this. idc if I don't get anything back I just want to know if I'm able to file or not.
