How do I relieve severe menstrual cramps ?

It hurts so bad. I’m practically trying in the bath tub for make it stop. I took pain medicine but it didn’t help. It feels like my uterus it’s being shanked over and over. The pain is bad that I threw from how bad it hurt. What should I do?

Although sex is probably the last thing on your mind right now, orgasms are fabulous for relieving menstrual cramps.  Give yourself 10-15 minutes of privacy, take matters into your own hand, and take care of business!  Trust me, you’ll feel 100% better.

It sounds weird, but focus on your breathing. Lay on your side, rest a hot water bottle on your lower stomach, and  pull your top leg up until it is at a 90 degree angle, so your knee is about at your waist. Prop that leg on a pillow for support and then breathe through the cramps. Take shorter breaths in as the cramp peaks and exhale through it. Treat cramps like contractions. Focusing on your breathing will distract you from the pain a little bit and you will eventually notice that the pain is decreasing. Controlling your breathing will also help you relax and, hopefully, fall asleep. 
As hard as it is, try not to cry and tense up. That will only make the pain worse. Drink water. 
Have you been to see a doctor? I had horrendous cramps when I was younger and it turns out I have endometriosis. I had surgery for it last summer, but it is coming back already, so I am practicing the breathing thing again. Make an appointment with your doctor. I am sorry you are in so much pain. I know how it feels.

I know how you're feeling I was the same with my periods. Habe you been checked you don't have endo or PCOS or something? Anyway to help, hot water bottles or microwavable heated things. I had them attached to my stomach the whole time. Hot baths. Try different pain meds (although they didn't help me much either) and try massaging/rubbing your stomach - works better than you'd think!

Aleve always does the trick for me. Each pain medicine works slightly differently so if one doesn't work, try something else. Also try to stay hydrated and get a little execrise. Even a short walk might help. A heating pad can also be beneficial. If you're not on hormonal birth control, talk to your doctor about the possibility.
