I don’t plan on breastfeeding and I’m just curious as to how long it takes for your milk to dry up ?

Don’t express it and try to avoid hot showers or at least turn away from it ! It stimulates milk production. I miscarried at 18 weeks and I made the mistake of expressing for relief and having hot showers which I was later told makes it worse. Frozen cabbage leaves help relieve the pain too.

I read that if you wear a tight sports bra it helps. It helped me. And I just did not express it at all.

After losing two pregnancy first at 21+weeks second at 24+ weeks it was like a month to a month and a half for my milk to dry up.
You can ask for tables to dry your milk up just make sure they give you some to take home. I asked for some after my second loss and was given one tablet while in Hospital but wasn’t sent home with any when a nurse visited me at home she said the hospital should have given me more.

My son is 16.5 months, I breastfed him up until he was 8.5 months. I still produce. Not much but there are days I can feel a milk gland enlarged. I just rub the spot until it loosens up

It shouldn't take long if you don't start at all. Just take the palms of your hands and express as much as you can in a hot shower.
