abnormal pap while pregnant hpv?

My ob has called saying I have hpv cells showing up and that she highly recommends I do further testing. I don't feel comfortable doing test while pregnant (9 weeks 1day). but she says she wouldn't wait. I asked was there cancer cells found she said no. and when I told them I don't care to do testing while pregnant she said I need to. what would you do? test? refuse til baby is born? Change obs? I read one here said there ob wasn't concerned and said to wait til after baby was born and that theirs then come back normal... I feel like this is extra stress I shouldn't be worry about

I am not sure of the advice to give specifically to the pregnancy, but I had both scenarios happen with cells.  I had cells pop up once that we’re low grade, we waited the six months and my next pap was clear.  Then again, I had low grade pop up, we waited the six months and they did the opposite and were high grade and one stage before cancer and had to be burned off.  
My personal opinion is to let them do the scrape and see what grade the cells are at least... with you being pregnant your body is going to give everything it has over the next seven months to create and take care of the baby, so your body won’t fight as hard to reduce/remove the cells and you really don’t want to let them go and have them go towards possible cancer.

I tested positive for hpv . All they did was take a sample of cells from my vagina and used vinegar to see if i was positive or negative for cancer cells. It was negative. It was just like a pap. I don’t think it will hurt the baby... I don’t know what other kind of testing they could do. Then I go back in a year to test again . It was pretty simple for me.

I wouldn’t go by other people’s cases. It sounds like your cervical changes are moderate or severe. You need to let them do the colposcopy, they might need to biopsy an area to determine if you have cervical cancer or not. There is no way to rule out cancer unless they do more testing. If you don’t have cancer they won’t do anything till after you give birth. I would definitely do the test, cervical cancer is very treatable if they catch it on time.

I had the same thing happen to me. I had the colposcopy afterward and they said there was little to nothing negative to be found. baby is totally healthy and am now 21 weeks.
