how long is your dog by themselves?

since I brought my puppy home at 6 weeks she's practically by my side constantly, my fiance goes to work while I stay home she's never been home alone for more than like 4 hours a day. and I have to leave for 4 days to go dog sit for my mom and my fiance works from 5:45 a.m. till about 6 p.m. I just feel awful about having to leave her and she'll be alone. I usually wouldn't mind so much because we have another dog and they play constantly but right now she's in heat so they can't be together so she's really just going to be alone for several hours and breaks my heart.

He goes in his crate when we leave, he doesn’t usually have to be alone more than 4 hours, my husband and I own our own business so we’re back and forth a lot. But I notice now that even if I’m home with him all day he’ll go into his crate on his own and take a nap in there for about 3 hours so I don’t feel super guilty about leaving him it’s part of his routine.

How are you going to keep the in heat dog and puppy separated while you’re gone for 4 days and your husband is at work?

Ours sometime have to stay by themselves for 12+ hours at a time. They're adults and have each other but they'll be ok

Our dog is about 1,5 years old and the longest he has been on his own is about 8 hours. Although we live on a farm and he has an outdoor pend he can be in if we have to leave him,and there's normally someone around to keep an eye out. But now, since I've changed jobs and my husband is currently studying at home he doesn't have to be alone for long at all😊 He's been a blessing though, never any issues leaving him indoors either, he has never gone on a rampage in the house, normally he just sleeps on the sofa and keeps an eye out for cars (he's a border collie and wants to herd them🙄).

It depends on my and my husband's work hours that day. Sometimes it's upwards of 8 or 9. Those are more rare though. He and I both work longer day hours at work. My young dog goes in a large dog run and our old dog has the fenced in yard. They would be together if my younger dog didn't hurt my old dog by trying to play with him.
