After abortion heath questions any advice please

I had a medical abortion exactly a week ago today. Initial bleeding/cramping and clotting happened exactly as described the first 24 hrs. Bleeding has been moderate since but no signs of letting up. I’ve been feeling relatively fine until today. Today I have sharp cramping pains and clots again. When I called the clinic they said this is normal as my uterus’s way of healing? Anyone else had this issue? I’ve heard bleeding can last up to 6 weeks?
