Lingering Period?

Okay so I was bleeding suspiciously light for the first 7 days and I thought my period was over (I say suspiciously because I never usually bleed light the whole period). But by day 7 I started to bleed heavy, filling a regular tampon within an hour! Day 8 I started to release these blood clots. I wouldn’t bleed but when I did it was because a blood clot came out, but now I’m still bleeding and it’s going on day 9 or 10 now that I’m having a “period”. Is this normal? Should I go see a doctor? I needs opinionsssss

P.S. I started a new birth control recently. I’m about to finish my second month on the pill.
