Help with night weaning

Nina

Hello everyone! This is my first post :)

I am trying to reduce/stop night feedings for my 6 month old. He usually wakes up about every 2.5 hours to nurse at night. He does eat a lot every time.

I am trying the method in Dr. Ferber’s book of adding 30 min between feedings. The problem is now we have reached 3.5 hours. My baby will wake up and cry, I sooth him back to sleep but he will wake up 5 minutes later crying again. He will not solidly go back to sleep until he is fed!

Does anyone have any tips for this?

I have been increasing feedings during the day. He will not be soothed by dad or anyone but me when it comes to sleeping. He also will not drink from a bottle so i can’t try reducing feedings that way.

I don’t mind him nursing once at night but he has never slept more that 3 hours since he was born and I’m getting a little tired :)
