Omeprazole while pregnant?

Has anyone taken omeprazole during pregnancy? I'm 8 weeks 6 days praise God!! And my doctor said it was safe. I'm just curious if any other mommas are taking it

I took Nexium throughout my entire pregnancy, I've been on it for years. My OB was fine with it.

Nexium is esomeprazole, and Prilosec is omeprazole. While they're not exactly the same, they are as similar as two medications can possibly be. Technically, omeprazole contains the left and right hand form of the molecule and esomeprazole only contains the left-hand form. (flashbacks to organic chemistry and chirality!)

I'm taking Zantac. I've not heard that omeprazole (nexium) is safe until the second trimester.

Omeprezole is Priolosec not nexium. I stopped taking it for the first trimester. The doctor said it was best to avoid ANY meds in the first 12 weeks. But I'm 37 weeks now and resumed taking it after the first tri!

I've been taking nexium the whole time.  Tried to go without it in the beginning, but my reflux was just too bad.

My doc just have me a script for it since the Zantac wasn't working. I'm in my second trimester. It's working great! I was waking up multiple times a night due to heartburn.
