Gender sadness?

Question

I have a son that is 22 months old, he is my whole entire world and I cannot imagine my life without him. I am 15 weeks pregnant and just recently found out this baby is a boy too. I am excited for my son to have a brother but I am so sad (selfishly) for myself that I will never have a daughter. My husband and I only want two kids and I can’t shake this sadness of realizing that I will never have a daughter. 😭 can anyone relate?

I completely empathize with you. I have 3 girls and have yet to find out the gender for a few more days. With my first I was just happy to have a baby. I didnt find out with my second until she was born and with my third i broke down crying during the ultrasound and cried myself to sleep for a week. This time Im unsure how to feel, of course I want a boy but at the same time Im expecting another girl.

Maybe you’ll reconsider for a third? Otherwise you can think of it as someday your sons will hopefully give you daughters (their wives) and granddaughters.

I totally understand. my oldest is a girl.. I have wanted her to have a sister for so long... well this is our last baby and he is also a boy...5 boys and only one girl. I was certain this one was a girl. it's hard to know she won't ever have a sister. but she is spoiled to say the least!

i completely understand. we agreed on two kids as well since my so has two from previous relationship and i found out this one is a boy as well. i was and still am sad i wont ever have a girl, but am trying to remember i will love this new boy so much even if i wantes a girl. i secretly hope the blood test was wrong and when i go in for the ultrasound it ends up being a girl.

I found out I’m having a girl about my 13 month old son. I was wanting another boy and was sure I was having a boy. When the tech told me it was a girl I kind of went into shock and was upset about it for awhile. It’s pretty much hit me now and it helps going to buy the baby things. No matter gender we are all going to love baby so much when it’s here!!

I definitely can relate and totally understand. I have 2 girls and just found out I'm having another girl!! I cried... I always pictured myself with a boy and always wanted a boy but that didn't happen. It's normal to have these feelings at first but we all have to stop and think that if our little one is healthy and growing then that's all that matters.

I just recently found out I’m having a son after having our first daughter. I was hoping for another girl for my daughter to have a close sisterly bond with someone. Play dress up, be in dance together, do each other’s makeup, etc. We also talked about only having two kids. But I’m seriously reconsidering and still thinking how to tell my husband I want a, “tie breaker.” Then I also thought about how there are no boys/men in our family except for my husband so he’d do anything for a boy. I thought about how excited he’s going to be when he finds out. That relieved some of my sadness. Just think about all the stuff your boys will do together as brothers. Sorry I can’t give much advice. But I was disappointed at first. After thinking about it, now I can’t wait.
