depression

has anyone successfully come off of an antidepressant and continued to have an uplifted mood? are there natural ways like vitamins and herbs to up my serotonin levels? I already take vitamin d but I need something more. I have severe depression and was just looking into alternative ways to keep my mood up. obviously diet and exercise but those haven't worked as well for me in the past as it may for some people. I never got out of bed except for work I would cry all day and sleep 14 hours a day. just exploring this option.
