Is it weird that I refuse to buy anything until after my baby shower and then I'm going bat shit crazy with shopping?

It's just that I see people buying like a crazy amount of stuff before they are even 6month. And I'm wondering if I'm the crazy one for wanting to wait. Or is there some secret rule of buying baby things that I don't know.

I've been buying since we found out the gender. I know that I won't get the more expensive items at my shower. Buying here and there when I see a good deal help with the blow to the pocket book. I have a good friend that wanted to wait till her shower and I told her she better start because she doesn't know when that baby might decide to come. He did decide to make an appearance four weeks early, one week shy of her baby shower. She didn't even have a diaper. Lol

I think that's a very practical way of doing things. I personally have no self control so as soon as the gender is confirmed I usually buy a few things. This is my third, first boy and I didn't do as much as I did with my girls but I still couldn't help myself and bought a few things.

I've bought some infant cloths, but my old boss gave me like two tubs full of baby clothes so I didn't want to buy anything until then. I haven't bought anything else. But I live on the west coast and my family and friends are all back east so I'm pretty sure my baby shower will consist of people buying off my registry. I think it's really rude when people buy what. Those registries take time!

I'm glad I bought everything early because NO ONE at my baby shower got me anything I really needed. Things like wipes and baby wash I can buy as I need and that's all I got. No clothes, or diapers, or anything that I really needed and not 1 thing off my registry. Thankfully I had already started buying stuff I knew I would need.

My husband and I knew we were going to be moving soon but not exactly when so we agreed not to buy anything until after we moved (that way it was less stuff to move)  We are moving next weekend and I will be 16 weeks. I plan to only buy stuff that i won't but on my registry (like expensive stuff). Once we find out the gender I plan to buy a little bit of clothes and blankets and maybe any bigger items if they are a great deal. Then I will wait for the shower and but whatever we still may need or want afterwards. I do think that some people go a little crazy really early but if that makes them happy then why not :)

I've bought 2 things an out fit and can't remember what else lol but I'm waiting until my baby shower to see what all I'm going to need. My fiancée and I have about 1,500$ set aside for whatever the nursery will need. But I'm not even sure how many people are coming to the shower because nobody likes to r.s.v.p

I bought a little before shower. Mainly stuff for the nursery. I bout the furniture, some decorations, and made the bedding. The weekend after the shower we went to babies r us and bought everything we didn't recieve at the shower. It was nice that we have a few hundred dollars worth of gift cards to spend too.
