Family around when baby first comes home
So my in laws want to drive here the moment I go into labour (about a 15 hour drive away). They will be staying in a hotel but will be at our house almost all day for at least 3 days. This is our first child and I'm thinking it will be overwhelming having people here right away. And I can't stand them so that doesn't help. My family live in the opposite end of the country so they will be here a month after the birth. I want to know from people who have children, did you have people around right away? Was it overwhelming? Would you rather people come, maybe a week after, or just get it over with? Any insite would be great.
