Is this normal ?

I don’t have kids but every week I babysit a 3 year old & I noticed that she doesn’t know her colors , numbers or letters . She’s sometimes unable to follow simple instructions . Is it normal for her to not know these things ?  I should mention that her parents don’t really pay any attention to her & they don’t try and teach her things .

It depends on the parents. It doesn’t mean anything wrong with her. Also all kids learn at different timelines but this would be the age for her to know or start learning

Seems odd but my oldest was writing her name at 3.  If the parents aren’t working with her, you should try to get her to learn some of it if you can!  Is it because her parents don’t teach her? Or maybe she is a slower learner!?

My 3 year old niece knows all her colors can count to 6 and sings her abc( misses some letters) she’s been doing that since 21/2 and she almost 4

Around ages 2-3 is when they typically learn but parents can try to teach them before.
