how to celebrate my sons 1st birthday

At first I wasnt going to throw my son a party. But I felt that wouldnt be fair being that this is his first birthday plus my side of the family doesnt know how to come together for anything positive smh. Besides me and his dad are not really speaking but he wants to be a part of his birthday celebration. So i didnt know if his dad side was coming. I have been thinking about taking him somewhere to let him play eat and have fun. Im still not sure on what to do. Any suggestions? Just in case I dont have a party for him
