wisdom teeth advice?

I'm 25 weeks and I went to the dentist as needed during pregnancy. well my top right wisdom tooth has been hurting mildly. they want to remove it without sedatives just with shot but I will have to take 2000 mg of antibiotics an hour prior to surgery, then I'll be put on tylenol 3. I'm worried this will hurt the baby especially since my surgery is scheduled a week before I'm 28 weeks. also they claim that it's the safest trimester to have it done. what would you do?

Have you contacted your regular OB to get a second opinion on the proposed treatment plan? That’s what I would do. If my OB thought it was safe, I’d do it. If the toothache gets worse, the tooth will have to come out anyway.

I would talk to your obgyn. Wisdom teeth can cause serious issues to your jaw and other teeth if left in when they should be removed

I had my wisdom teeth pulled out when I was pregnant. At the time I didn’t even know I was pregnant. Doctor said it wouldn’t have 
affected the baby anyways. My son is 2 now and perfectly healthy.

I had a tooth pulled a little over a week ago, they did a numbing shot and that was it. Afterwards I just took regular Tylenol. Beforehand I was on antibiotics like 4 times.

I have all my wisdom teeth coming out for a while now. I still won't go because I've been pregnant twice and I refuse to get work done until after. I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to dentists so I will need to be put to sleep or something to make me not know what's going on. I personally would wait until after. My husband agrees with my decision. but once baby number 2 is born and I have a good stock pile of milk I'm going get me teeth done before any more kids.

Its not bad being awake I had all 4 pulled awake. I think a lot of people get nervous about taking meds while preg.  If you get an infection it could be worse.

Mine were bugging me during my pregnancy but I waited till after my son was born to get them removed. I was breastfeeding so I had to stop for 48 hours cause of the anesthesia but I ended up not needing to take pain meds afterward which helped me return to that faster. If you’re worried about the baby you don’t have to get it done right away, even if they are saying it’s safe don’t let them push you into something you’re not comfortable doing
