First scan??

some people seem to be having scans at just 6 weeks. I'm told mine won't be till 11/12 Is that normal? why do some people already have there's? I don't feel pregnant as I can't tell friends or family yet and I haven't seen a doctor or anything.

I’m getting mine at 8 weeks. I’m in Canada so it’s pretty specific for when our ultrasounds are but some people may decide to pay themselves and get an extra one done. Or they may decide to do one if there’s concerning symptoms. So 11/12 weeks seems pretty normal!

In Australia we tend to have a 'dating scan' at about 6 weeks, a 12 week scan and 20 week scan.  It might doffer depending on location and practitioner maybe?

Mine is at 11 almost 12 weeks. It’s very normal to have them that late, unless you have had a previous miscarriage, or are otherwise high risk

in the UK you get your dating scan at 12 weeks. you'd only have an ealirer one if bleeding or strong pain. x

I will be 7 weeks 4 days when I go. I had a miscarriage before this pregnancy and used clomid to get pregnant so that is why I am going early.

Mine was today at 6w4d but i underwent fertility treatment, so we will have early scans until we graduate to our OBGYN. To my knowledge it’s pretty common to wait until 8 weeks or later unless you’re at risk or have had previous complications, such as losses. They can see more after that point. I was surprised to see anything at just 6 weeks.

Previously my last 3 were at 12 weeks but I had a miscarriage so now I will get one at 6 weeks
