cant swallow tablets.. post partum q

so I'm being induced today the nurse is a bit of an old grumble bum... I can't swallow pills. I can cut them into tiny pieces and give it a go but I'd rather crush them or have soluable form that dissolves in drink but they've said it won't be strong enough. I'm seriously gonna ask my husband to pack some jam or honey to mix a crushed pill with... is this unreasonable and silly? can I get a shot of pain killer instead because I'd rather a needle than to choke on a tablet. I know its all in my head but I can't for the life of me swallow pills I've tried all the tricks and it ends up with me gagging and crying like a baby over it
