Kidney infection?

Since yesterday morning I’ve been having severe pain in my right side and into my back, kind of mid way up. The only thing I can associate it with is a kidney infection since I’ve had one of those before. But I didn’t have any symptoms of a UTI or anything. I’m just in a lot of pain and am very concerned. Anyone have any thoughts? If you had one were you hospitalized? 
I see my OB later today but my anxiety has taken over.

I had a UTI and the first symptom was kidney pain. The uti symptoms didn’t set in for a couple of more days. Pregnancy can just mask a lot of the UTI symptoms and make it difficult to diagnose. 
Anyway, nothing to be anxious about! Give your doctor a call before you go to your appointment today and let them know that you need to do a urine culture to check for a UTI. Remind them when you get there because you need to do a clean (sterile) urine catch in one of those lab jars and not the normal routine of just peeing into a cup when you get there. They’ll probably give you some antibiotics to start while you’re waiting for the results in a couple of days. There’s nothing dangerous about the antibiotics they give you for your baby, and a kidney infection would be risky for the baby. So start the antibiotics right away. Don’t wait it out.

Could be just a stone.  Sometimes when I get stones the only symptom is pain until it starts to pass. Then I get the uti symptoms.
