Induction birth story SUPER LONG

Ga

I was diagnosed with GD 1/31 and was just monitoring my blood sugar for a few weeks then 3/13 they realized I was going to need to be put on insulin. I went to maternal fetal medicine the following week and they literally did nothing. So I emailed my midwife asking what the next step was going to be (3/23). She called me on 3/24 saying she was going to talk to my dr and get back to me about it. On 3/26 I was just sitting on the couch with my mom and at 9:30 she gets a call from a number she didn't know. I always answer her phone and say she's not here at the moment. (My phone was in my bedroom charging). So I answer it and it's my midwife! She said "well I spoke to the doctor and we are going to go ahead and induce you today". I repeat her so my mom can hear what she said, I was like "wait .. I'm getting induced today??" She said "yes ma'am ! Go ahead and head over to the hospital now they are waiting for you" 😱😱😱 I was shocked!!! I was 37+3. Me and my mom rush to get dressed and I showered and all, called family members, I took my last belly pic , and by 10:30 we were on our way!

we get there and they immediately hook me up to an IV and start asking me A MILLION questions!!! I had 8 nurses in there doing all different things ! Some taking blood , asking questions , putting my monitors on. So much was going on! At 1:00 they put in my cervadil and labor started. Cervadil has to be in for 12 hours so I was supposed to just chill until 1 am and then they'd start my pitocin. 1 comes around and I hadn't dilated at all. The nurse told me they were going to try cytotec which is a little pill that goes in you to dilate you also. You get one every 4 hours. They gave me my first dose at 4 am, nothing happened. Continued giving me cytotec every 4 hours. Got it again at 8 am. Nothing . 12 pm. Nothing. 4 pm. Nothing. 8 pm. Nothing. 5 doses of cytotec and 12 hours of cervadil later... STILL NOT DILATED. They then decided to just go ahead and start my pitocin since nothing was working. They started it at midnight, I wasn't feeling anything mind you. At 2 am the anesthesiologist came in and said "just in case you want it later and I'm busy do you want to go ahead and get your epidural or just wait?" I said I might as well! Got the epidural. It was NOTHING. Everyone made it seem like it was bad. Honestly the flu shot hurts worse😂😂😂 got the epidural immediately felt it. It was great. I then got a catheter (didn't feel it at all) and I wasn't in any pain. The monitor wasn't showing contractions at all, but they knew I was having them. They decided to put an internal monitor in, it was a plastic thing that went inside me and was told it wouldn't be painful AT ALL. As soon as she put it in I was SCREAMING!! They told me it was probably just the catheter or baby's position pushing down. I knew it wasn't either !!! I WOULD TOUCH THE MONITOR AND I COULD TELL THATS WHAT THE PAIN WAS !! I was in agonizing pain for HOURS!!!!! Everytime they came in id say ITS THE MONITOR!!!!!! Nobody believed me!!! Me and my mom were pissed... I've now been there for 2 days and nothing is happening. STILL IN PAIN.... around 3 am they finally say oh well let's take it out.. I WENT FROM SCREAMING MY HEAD OFF TO INSTANTLY NO PAIN. The nurse was shocked. I was like I told yall😂😂😂 I start laughing Bc I KNEW what it was but nobody believed me. She then checked me and I was 3 cm. THANK YOU LORD‼️‼️‼️ finally !!! Some progress !!! 2 hours later I was sitting there and felt *gushhhhhhhh* I knew it was my water . I told my mom uhhhh I think I peed myself 😂 we both knew it was my water Bc I had a catheter in. I call my nurse and she said well sounds like your water broke! I'll be in there in a second ! She confirmed my water broke. But there was an issue... it was all blood and blood clots. Not sure why... (I have been bleeding super bad my whole pregnancy with no explanation). Well she then tells me now we just wait. Water broke and now we wait. Still NOOOOO contractions on the monitor, nobody knows why. I just continue to watch TV and chill with my mom eating my ice chips. And at 2:45 the nurse came in telling me my dr will be here after the office closes, my dr office is right across the street from the hospital. I ask when I'm going to be checked next, just because I wanted to know if I moved from a 3. She told me when my dr comes over @ 5:00 she'll check me. So I assume we will just wait until then. Since I still had no contractions showing , it was a complete flat line. She checked me and said uhhhh he's crowning. Me and my mom were SHOCKED !! I asked if I could feel it she said yes !!! So I reached down and I felt hair !!! She called my dr and said get over here she's 10 cm. My nurse was so confused !! No contractions, I didn't feel any pressure or anything. She called in all the nurses into my room to get prepared and told me not to laugh or cough or anything 😂😂 so my dr gets here and told me we were gonna do a practice push. I do it and BAMMMM his head pops out 😭😂 everyone in the room screamed at me STOPPPPP WAITTTTT STOP PUSHING😭😭 I stopped and I was like ahhhhhh😂 my dr gets dressed into her little gown and all. 3 pushes and he was out !! 6 lbs 11 oz , 20" at 37+5

Elijah James 💙💙💙 we do skin to skin for an hour. I went to postpartum and I was just in love with him!!! Fast forward to 2 am Thursday morning and they came into tell me his bilirubin levels were sky rocket (jaundice) so I was supplementing him with formula every 2 hours hoping he would poop it out. Well he didn't . So around noon Thursday they put him under the lights. IT WAS THE SCARIEST THING!! I know it's common and all but I hadn't slept in a week and was losing my mind. He didn't like being naked under the lights😭😭😭😩😩 I could only take him out to feed him.

He was just in my room crying and crying and crying and I couldn't do anything about it . And all y'all moms know how it hurts your heart when your baby cries. Well I had to listen to my baby cry for 2 days straight and couldn't do anything about it 😭😭😭 Saturday comes around. And they tell me I MIGHT BE ABLE TO GO HOME TODAY!! Guys... I had been there a week and was soooooo ready to go home‼️‼️ fast forward to 1 pm and they say I can go home!!! It was the best feeling ever!!!

This is daisy meeting her little brother🤗

Elijah is now 2 weeks old today

Horrible pregnancy, horrible labor, amazing delivery and an amazing baby💜 it was totally worth it.
