Is the doctor right?

Hi guys, this is a bit confusing but I'll try and explain as clearly as possible. Basically, I have been with my Partner since January and I was on the mini pill. The first time we slept together was the 3rd of March. My last period began on the 23rd Feb and finished on the 28th. I have had my first doctors appointment today and she says I'm 7 weeks but how is this possible when I'd not physically slept with him 7 weeks ago?

She's going by the start date of your last period which would make you 6w+6d but that's just what midwife/doctors do until you've had your 12 week dating scan. My dates only changed by 4 days but it can be out by a bit! She's just going by what all midwifes and doctors do, the start date of your last period is how they get an expected due date ☺️

They date it by your last period and assume you have a normal cycle until they do an ultrasound to measure. Basically it is when you conceived plus 2 weeks.

7 weeks counts from ovulation until now.  So basically week 1 is when you ovulate, week 2 is when the egg and sperm meet, week 3 is when it implants into uterus, and week 4 is usually when you can get a positive on a urine pregnancy test.  Basically by the time you find out you're pregnant on the urine test you are already a month pregnant.
