I’m 35 and my husband is 38. We are on our 8th month of TTC for our first baby.

His dr had him submit a sperm sample to make sure everything was normal. They called him and didn’t give many specifics. They simply said, your sperm count is totally normal, but the amount (of semen I assume) was only 65% which is low. And so they are referring him to a specialist.

Has anyone had experience with this? I can’t find consistent information online about what this means and how it relates to fertility.

Furthermore, My husband has been in recovery from opiate addiction for 10 years now, but uses a very low dose of methadone daily to maintain sobriety. Methadone can allegedly affect testosterone production. Can this affect the fertility or semen production? His dr said testosterone and fertility are unrelated. Can anyone help?
