why can’t Christians/Catholics have sex before marriage?

So according to the Christian or Catholic Bible, why can’t we have sex before marriage? why doesn’t Jesus want us to? Is it really that big of a sin?

So in Christianity, there’s a lot of references to the day Jesus will return and it ties to how much Jesus loves us and His creation.
For instance, there’s a story about brides that stayed up all night burning oil lamps while waiting for their grooms to arrive, the same way we should wait for the return of Jesus (diligently, not falling asleep, staying awake and waiting).
We do so, because we love Him.
In the same sense, it is taught that you shouldn’t just “not have sex”. It’s about purity of heart and body, saving yourself for your one mate to spend the rest of your life with, a diligence that takes mindfulness (staying awake to what your eyes see and body does) everyday.
We do it as an act of love for our future partner.
Loving and wanting with your eyes is lust, which is why we avoid porn. It’s like sex before marriage. It’s giving yourself away to the world and to things of the flesh instead of saving yourself for your husband. To be able to live him with your whole self, an untouched prize for his love for you.
I know that sounded cheesy, but I hope it shed some light onto the issue.

They do have sex before marriage I’m a Christian and I had sex before marriage which created my children but the difference with just sleeping about is I met my oh when I was 13 and we are still together now at 21 and plan on getting married

Embracing sexuality we shouldn’t look at it as a bad thing sex is not bad. I mean how the fuck would we all be here if it was bad lol.
  The oh contradicting Bible was written back before modern medicine. At the risk of over population and the wide spread of venereal diseases (that eventually kill you without treatmeant)If god is an all knowing being he didn’t just make sex out of marriage a sin just because he wanted to.. I mean really he didn’t just pick his nose and make rules he knew that if he didn’t scare people into damnation. We’d all be rabid sex fiends getting diseases getting pregnant having sex with animals and shit. I mean we all have some strain of herpes right??😂😅😅 it worked to an extent but God had to figure out a way to keep his creation alive somehow. I.e Eternal damnation!!! . Just be safe when you have sex wear a condom

According to the Bible, the sole purpose of sex should be for the union of a married man and a woman for the reason of procreation. That being said, many Christians (including myself) don’t adhere to this standard. But, nobody is perfect.
