What’s the big deal about c sections? Just a curious question.

Question

Why is it such an issue for a women to opt for a c section? To plan for one instead of attempting a natural birth? 
Why’s so many people hate that? 
Why does it have to have a medical excuse?
I’m planning to opt for a c section for my own personal reasons. 
I’m aware it’s no game. I’m aware the recovery is harder. I know the risks. 
Yet I still think it would be best for me. 
Why should I be bashed because my reason isn’t medical related?

Sounds like you want to fight about this, but I’ll still tell you my thoughts: i find its incredibly odd to willingly choose to have major surgery for something that the body is made to do. Its better for the baby and in most cases way better for the mother. It’s fantastic that the option for a csection is there when it’s needed, but choosing it just because the possibility is there doesn’t make sense.

Tell anyone who bashes you to shove it. I loved my c section, even if the ob made me try pushing first. Scar is barely noticeable. Just make sure to keep it dry while healing

I don’t bash anyone for wanting one but, I’ve been the med student holding traction during a bunch of c-sections and that surgery is insane! I believe it’s a much harder and longer recovery and there’s beneficial bacteria via vaginal birth that’s good to expose the baby to and whatnot. It’s awesome to witness, but I’m terrified of having one, now. I had been to so many laparoscopic surgeries that seeing someone just cut open like that and a human being pulled out blew my mind. If I do need one, I want a clear drape so I can watch, haha. I’ve never seen my uterus in person and it’s going to be a monster uterus with twins.

my c section recovery was great. I would have loved to deliver naturally but after going a week past my due date, a failed induction that took 28 hours, I chose to do a c section. I guess yeah, I could have kept going just because some people feel like "it's what the body was made to do" but for the sake of my child, I chose a c section. those people who bring up the point of "it's what the body was made to do" are just as bad as the ones who say unless you had your baby vaginally then you're not a mother.

Because people think that the way they think IS THE ONLY correct way to think and they feel they must force that on everyone 🙄 when in reality.. their opinion doesn’t mean sh*t!
