My birth control story. I need you guy’s help !

So I’ve always struggled with the hormones in birth control. When I first got on birth control I got the depo shot. The shot made me extremely hormonal, emotional, depressed & moody & I also gained a bunch of weight bc I was ALWAYS hungry & never felt full after eating. So after about 6-8 months of being on the shot I decided it would be better for me to switch to something else. I talked to my doctor & we decided to try a birth control pill with a very low amount of hormones in it. I’ve been on this same pill for almost 2 years now & even tho I haven’t had any serious issues with it & it is way better than the shot, there are still some down falls to it. It does make me moody & I still have a way bigger appetite than I did before ever being on birth control & I also have a VERY low sex drive. Lately though I’ve noticed that I’ve been getting waaay more moody/irritable than normal & I know it’s from the pill bc it’s always worse shortly after I take the pill for the day. I’m just starting to feel like putting all these extra hormones in my body is effecting me badly & that there’s no good birth control for me.

So I’ve been looking into the iud. The whole concept of the iud when I first heard about it completely freaked me out & I was terrified of it, which I still kinda am, but I’m considering trying it out bc it’s very little to no hormones being added to your body. Now I’ve heard good & bad things about the iud so I’m kinda on the edge about it.

So I was wondering what you guys experiences & thoughts are about getting/having an iud.. any advice & opinions are welcome & appreciated, thank you :)
