Passport renewal

Ok ladies I need some help. I need to take a last min trip outside the USA. I just noticed my passport expires end of may. I plan to travel early may and come back mid may. If I send my passport renewal application tomorrow how long you think it will take to get it. I did my son’s a few months ago and took less than 2 wks but his was an original application, mine is a renewal. Thanks in advanced. Sorry I don’t know where to post this 🤷🏻‍♀️

Edit: I called the embassy of the country I’m traveling to and my airline. I also found a travel website with rules and regulations. So I won’t have to rush to renew my passport. The country I’m going to doesn’t have any requirements other than a valid passport to enter and leave. Thanks everyone
