Can I use a play yard as a bassinet?

Question

I noticed the Grace Pack and Play says it is also a bassinet.
Can I buy this and use for baby to sleep in overnight for the first 6 months?
It also has the changing table and a bouncer which would save us some money too.
Any experiences of this?
Or should I just get a bassinet, changing pad, bouncer separately?

you can use the bassinet part for a few months then the actual pack and play on the upper setting till baby can sit up. after baby can sit up you can use it on the lower setting

I have an ingenuity pack and play with a bassinet and change table, I was thinking like you with the saving money part (altho we also have a crib for when we are ready to move her in her own room). Anyways, my baby is outgrowing her bassinet at 2.5 months because she is tall. She has to fold her legs...but she has mixed feelings about her playard part. Its too big and doesnt snuggle her like the bassinet does.

I really liked the bassinet, didn't like it when I had to lower the mattress (too uncomfortable to pick baby up then).

I recommend a bassinet for overnight sleeping and using a pack-n-play for daytime naps. We have the Ingenuity Pack-N-Play with the napper and changer attachments. I really like it for naps and diaper changes during the day. However, we love the Halo Bassinet for nights. It's like she's in bed with us. However, if you think the pack-n-play will be better for you, go ahead and use it. You have to do what works best for you.

The pack and play can be used for night sleep, but I'd get a separate bouncer for day use (not meant for sleeping). Depending on your baby's birth size, they may only fit in the bassinet for a little while; mt 9lb'er just outgrew hers at 7wks so I'm glad I didn't spend a bunch of money on a dedicated one! She now sleeps in the main area with the matress raised.

We used the pack n play with my second born and loved It! We attempted with my first born and she hated it! We just purchased this one for baby number 3 hoping he will sleep in it day or night!

Yes you can use it, however you're almost better off just getting a typical pack n play with the raised mattress, no changer or bassinet needed. A separate swing/bouncer is great but if baby gets used to sleeping in it (which btw is not recommended) then that is where baby will prefer to sleep- just causing you problems in the end! The bassinet feature is ok for the first few months but otherwise not worth the upcharge.

Yea my SO did for two of his kids. I personally wouldn’t do it as I like fancier things. I’m just like that. But the pack and plays are definitely more attractive now then later years.
