Road Trip Advice ?

Question

This weekend will be the first long trip with the baby (7 weeks old). It's a 3 hour car ride to visit family and we will be staying the weekend. Any advice you have that helped you survive the first overnight trip anywhere would be greatly appreciated !!!

Be flexible/ speak up... we took our almost 4wk old to the world series parade in kansas city back in 2015 (I am such a pushover lol). Husband had time line for the almost 6hr drive to kansas city and I didn't speak up when I could tell she was at the start of being hungry. I should have stopped (I was driving) but we didn't until she was raging mad and hungry. Then later when we got to the hotel and then out to dinner- she yacked all over me :( so maybe have extra extra clothes with you too lol

We feed and change baby RIGHT before we leave and she can usually go 3 hrs in between feedings so then usually she has to eat right when we get there! We have a noise app and just play it thru the bluetooth in the car and she usually falls asleep. Occasionally if she’s playing and her Nook falls out or something one of us goes back and sits with her. We’ve taken maybe 10, 3hr trips and only really had to stop for a feeding or diaper change 1 or 2 times!
