Can men and women be “just friends”?

Okay so I’m a lesbian, and my best friend is a bisexual man (who likes women more than men). 
I love him and he loves me. Platonically. I see him as family. 
For years and years and years, people have accused us of having feelings for each other, and I’m so sick of it. They always say girls and guys can’t be “just friends.”
Honestly, I think that if you can’t be friends with anyone who is your opposite gender without developing romantic feelings... 1) that’s crazy, 2) you have HORRIBLE social skills. Right..???
Like I’m just so done with this. I would never have an issue with my gf going to hang out with another girl. Even another lesbian, because I trust her. 
If you can’t trust your boyfriend being friends with a girl, even if they’re legitimately just friends, I really really think you have serious issues.

I have multiple guy friends, some have been my friends for 10+ years and I have zero romantic feelings for them. Friendship is friendship.

Of course men and women can be just friends. We're not ruled by our genitals, incapable of forming bonds with the opposite sex without the inexplicable urge to mate. I have many friends that are male that I've been friends with for years and my husband has friends that are women. I tell my friends I love them and I completely mean it in a platonic way. I agree with you that anyone who thinks members of the opposite sex can't be just friends have an issue.

let's just say I THINK a guy and girl cannot be friends LIKE a girl and girl or a guy and guy can be friends..
does that make sense?
I think that somehow or someway someONE catches feelings for the other. EVENTUALLY.

I so agree with you! I head this allll the time because I have a best friend who happens to be a dude. I am happily married to my husband but yes I have a male best friend. No I’ve never wanted to sleep with him. I’ve never felt that way towards my best friend at all. Also, people say to me “your husband should be your best friend” but I disagree with that. When it comes down to it, they are just titles. Husband means a lot more than a best friend in my opinion so I don’t feel the need to call him my best friend. But to go back to your question, my husband trusts me and he knows I’d never do anything with any of my guy friends. My friend even lived in our home for a few months.

Thank you! It’s so stupid. I’ve plenty of male friends, with absolutely zero romantic or sexual feelings on either side. Hell, I’m bisexual. Does that mean I can’t have ANY friends without me or them catching feelings/be attracted?

Every time my sister makes a male friend they either want to sleep with her or fall on love. She literally has like one close male friend now, and he's full on gay. She had to drop the others because they don't respect the fact that she is a lesbian and in a long term committed relationship. I have also had male friends that want more and can't handle that they can't have more. It happens. It depends on the people, so I would say yes and no.

yes.... and no. I've seen it happen, my two best friends (who are lesbians) have guy friends and nothing happens between them. 
in my case, I have a male best friend and he ended up developing feelings 🤦🏾‍♀️. I honestly think it depends on the people involved.
