Midwife brew... to encourage labor???

Question

Anyone thinking about trying this to bring on labor towards the end??? I am scared of the castor oil but just want others views!!!! No need to preach on it we all know what the studies say about castor oil so for anyone wanting to be judgmental this post is not for you! Any other natural methods to prepare body is welcome??? Like EPO, pineapple core, dates, RLT, etc!

I took it with my son at 38 weeks and a few hours after I took it (in oj) my water broke. Just over 4 hours after my water broke I was holding my healthy as can be baby boy. I never had loose bowels before labor but I did had a really soft nice bowel movement a few hours after labor. There is no science that actually can link castor oil to meconium. Thousands of women take castor oil and don’t have meconium, and thousands of women have meconium who don’t take castor oil. Many of my nurse coworkers and a few docs I work with are the ones who told me to try it... it worked for them and their wives too. I’m going to do it again before my induction day because they aren’t letting me go past 38 weeks this time too due to GD insulin dependent.

I was curious about the midwives brew but the castle oil scared me. I’ve been drinking red raspberry tea and and just started epo. I asked my midwife about castor oil and she said it’s pretty pointless to take it right now unless you want the shits lmao she usually suggests it for mom who are way past due. I still wouldn’t take it personally tho. I just wanted to know what she thought.

Took it yesterday after I had cramping and accepted a membrane sweep. (Already soft 2cm dialated and 50%) had cramps that turned into contractions after 6 hours. Took a bath and relaxed in bed and they stopped. BEST SLEEP OF MY PREGNANCY from my uterus working all day! No pooping like straight castor oil might do to you. If your ready for labor and baby is too that might help you kickstart things. Good luck! I’ll try later maybe!

I took Castor Oil with my middle child, she’s now 15 yo. I went to the doc at 38 weeks, she did a membrane sweep, went home, took the castor oil and orange juice mix (it’s gross not going to lie). Took about 2 hours of on the toilet and I was in active labor at that point. 
It’s all a personal preference if you want to give it a shot or not, for me, I thought why not try. 
I plan on trying it with my now 4th child at 38 weeks after a membrane sweep.

I’m using raspberry leaf tea and will use evening primrose oil in a few weeks. I did both with my older 2 and I had fast easy labors
