All in ones for newborns?

Question

FTM. Should I use prefolds or my AIO do they get small enough for newborns? I have a mix of Alva and bumgenius. I bought a preowned barely used stash at a great price. 64 liners and 150 inserts. 
Not really wanting to buy more, unless I must.

I prefer prefolds for the newborn stage. They wash and dry super easily!

If your talking about OS aios, depending on how big babe is, they likely won't be small enough. Newborn aios are nice, but they quickly are outgrown absorbency wise. I prefer prefolds and flats for the newborn stage personally because the fit and absorbency can be customized. For example, this is my 4week old wearing a newborn gmd muslin flat airplane folded around a gmd newborn prefold.

For my girls the only diapers that fit well at first were Lil Joeys, but they were 6lbs 11oz and 6lbs 5oz and grew slowly. My son was 7.5lbs and frew quickly and all of the newborn diapers fit him pretty well and he outgrew the Lil Joeys super quickly.

Thank you everyone! I hope this reaches all of you! The diapers I have are OS. So most likely won’t fit. I am going to look into prefolds because they seem easier and quicker to clean.

I have newborn bum genius AIOs (think they're called littles) and my LO is still in them at 3 months old. regular One Size AIO don't fit him at all no matter how I fix the snaps. he's got a skinny waist.

We did an AIO rental during our LOs newborn phase. We were disappointed with the absorbency. Next time we plan on doing prefolds for the most part with a few fitteds for ease overnight

it depends.. are the aio diapers newborn sized or "one size" I had one size they were 8-35 or 8-40lbs my son was born 8lbs but he didn't fit them until he was 3 months old. for baby 2 we have bought some newborn sized aio diapers some are 4-12 lbs and others are 5-15lbs. so hopefully we are able to do cloth from birth then use the regular one sized diapers when the newborns are too small
