Trusting doctors?
Do you trust all doctors to: have the most up to date knowledge? Have your best interests in mind? To not push their agenda on you?
I’ve been surprised a few times by doctors odd recommendations that clearly go against what is common knowledge. For example: I used to work in a field where I spoke with a clients doctor stated that pumping and dumping was necessary to get alcohol out of breast milk. Now even just a little internet research will prove this to be unnecessary, and in fact wrong. Another (less extreme/surprising) example: my doctor suggested I start my (completely healthy, full term) daughter out with some rice cereal at six months. But I had previously researched this and found rice cereal to be mostly just empty calories/filler. So we decided not to use rice cereal.
So what do you think about blindly trusting doctors just because they are doctors?
