Insurance card needed?

Sorry this may seem like a stupid question, but today I'll be using my health insurance for the very first time in my life. I have somehow already misplaced my actual insurance card, but I do have a bill with my account number on it. Will my doctor accept that?

I would call you doctor to confirm. Certain offices have different policies. I know I signed a waiver saying that if I didn’t have a visual card/license they were going to make me pay full price for the appt and get reimbursed by insurance. I have other doctors offices that are more relaxed.

Call your doctor and find out what they need. Where I go they have to take a copy of my card and then leave it on file for the year. I always have to bring it back at the beginning of a new year because that’s their policy. I know some places are different but it’s good to know before you get there so you don’t have to worry about waiting for your insurance to be applied if you’re missing something they need from the card
