Membrane Sweep at 39 Weeks?! UPDATED

Went in for my regular appointment at exactly 39 weeks today and was hoping for a sweep which my OB went ahead and offered!

It was very uncomfortable but I’m so ready to get things going since I’ve been having some serious bouts of false labor. Last night after a couple hours of lightning crotch and Braxton Hicks nearly sending me to L&D; I was so sure it was going to be the big day until the contractions suddenly stopped 😭

Has anyone else gone into labor pretty quickly after having a membrane sweep? I was at 1cm a week ago and currently sitting and just 1.5cm now ☹️

I’ve been walking, bouncing, drinking RRL tea, eating spicy foods, orgasms, eating red meat, doing stair climbs, nipple stimulation, but still no baby!

UPDATE: After some baby dancing with hubby contractions started later Friday evening. They never made it to the 5-1-1 rule but were super painful. I couldn’t sleep Friday night, all day Saturday, and Saturday night from the irregular contractions I was having. It’s Sunday afternoon now and my contractions continued to be irregular. I came in to L&D; for monitoring to see if I could be admitted. I was checked and at first was only 3 cm. I made it to 4 cm in 2 hours from lots of walking and squats and now they’re keeping me!!
