How do I get him to like me

So there’s someone at school I like who is also 12 but he hangs around with a group of people you could call the populars

None of my friends really like him but I do cuz I think that he is not like his friends because I know he is a nice person he just acts the way he is because of his friends (I think )

We used to be good friends in primary school but when we moved up we never talk , but I want to talk to him but I don’t know what to say or talk to him or if I should try texting him on snap chat

And tbh I don’t think I’m that pretty so I don’t think he’ll be attracted to me

What should I do ??
